Attack against Residents of Kalma Camp in Darfur

The Darfur Relief and Documentation Centre (DRDC) strongly condemns the attack by Sudan’s security forces against unarmed internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Kalma Camp in South Darfur State. During this attack, which took place today, Friday, 22 September 2017, at least four people were  killed and more than 26 others were injured. The reason led to this attack was the protest of the residents of Kalama camp against the planned visit of General Omar Al-Bashir to Kalma as part of his tour in Darfur. The United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID), which reported this tragic event is currently providing medical treatment to some of the injured victims
